Though the trees had yet to bud, the weather was wonderful – not too warm and not too cold! With their wedding taking place at Celebrations On The River (La Crosse, WI), we all celebrated their marriage in the park near the river’s edge. Ashlee’s dress was stunning, with a beautiful bow adorning the side. Her feet were kept comfortable in her Nike sneakers (smart lady!) with orange accents to match her wedding colors.
Her engagement band (from Fred Meyers, La Crosse, WI) adorned her finger as she walked down the aisle, but the wedding bands (hers from Kay Jewelers, La Crosse, WI and his from Fred Meyers, La Crosse, WI) were kept safe in a custom wooden ring box. With the reception only a couple hours away, the garter was held by a football, ready to be tossed during the night’s festivities.
Ashlee was the picture of perfection as she prepared herself for the big moment! With her dress (from David’s Bridal, Rochester, MN) and her flowers (by Cindy’s Wedding Designs, La Crosse, WI), we snuck out for a few pre-wedding photos. Windy as it was, nothing could detract from the beauty of this bride!
With our bride safely tucked back inside her room, we pulled Drew, her groom, out for his portrait. He donned a stunning navy blue suit (Men’s Warehouse, Onalaska, WI) with brown leather shoes. To complete his look, he wore an orange next tie to match the wedding colors.
In Wisconsin, the April weather can surprise you. Ashlee and Drew were well aware and set out a basket of blankets for their guests, just in case. Their aisle was decorated with beautiful metal lanterns, each holding a candle and sporting a small bunch of orange flowers. Perfectly suiting a modern wedding, they shared the Snapchat filter specially created for their wedding so their guests could document the experience! The view for their ceremony, over looking the river, was absolutely lovely. There were some laughs, some meaningful readings and some thoughtful recognitions during their wedding ceremony. Ashlee’s uncle officiated the ceremony, which made it all the more meaningful. The introduction of the new Mr. and Mrs. Stanke was met with applause and the excitement was evident as the newly married couple recessed down the aisle!
Supporting Ashlee and Drew were the friends they chose to be in their wedding party. Such a fun group they were! The ladies were all full of joy and the gentlemen full of spunk. The women all held gorgeous matching bouquets. The guys sported cufflinks of their favorite football team and hid superhero shirts beneath their suits. Of course, what’s a wedding without laughter? And this group definitely brought the laughter!
As the wedding party left to prepare for the ceremony, we took advantage of some one-on-one time with the bride and groom. There was no shortage of love between these two. Snuggles and kisses were given without prompting. They were basking in such a magical moment!
Guests dined on a delicious meal provided by Pogreba Restaurant (La Crosse, WI). What awaited them after dinner was truly a feature all it’s own! Their wedding cake (by Laura’s Baking Delights (Holmen, WI), was a double-sided, three-tier cake, featuring superhero emblems down one side. The gold, blue and white colors matched perfectly and the glittered cake topper finished the look.
After speeches, including one by her father that had the entire room crying tears of laughter, it was time for the dance to begin. Abster’s DJ Service (Rice Lake, WI) called Ashlee and Drew to the floor for their first dance as husband and wife. A father daughter dance followed as well as a bouquet and garter toss. Finally, the new couple snuck outside, under the stars, for a special kiss surrounded by sparklers! We were overjoyed to be a part of such a gorgeous wedding – thank you Ashlee and Drew for having us! Many wishes for a wonderful future together!
